The Story of this Guitar
Listening to a vinyl of the aria on the fourth string by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) from the Suite for orchestra in D major n. 3 BWV 1068, I came to the realization that my new project had not yet been fulfilled:
the guitar, being a plucked instrument, due to its intrinsic characteristics, was unable to evoke that orchestral sense of continuity of sound, clearly perceptible for example in the orchestra version of BWV 1068, characterized by those long and poignant sounds of the strings and other instruments, in the melody part of this wonderful piece ...
Thus, unable to resign myself and accept what everyone else had, that is to say that each instrument has its merits and its shortcomings or, better said, its own characteristics, I began to think how I could possibly carry over some of the typical acoustic properties of stringed instruments onto a guitar…
Then… the “intuition”….
